KISS: Keep It Simple, Stupid. I had a French teacher who used this as her mantra when guiding us through writing exercises, but obviously it applies to just about anything.

In my current sales job I host online demos that take anywhere from 30-60 minutes to go through, but if I can’t make the value of the product clear in the first 30-60 SECONDS then I know I’ve lost my audience’s attention right away.

I agree with everything said here with one caveat: Canadian Angels are beginning to fund companies to conclusion through co-investment.

As Angels in Canada begin to coalesce together to form Angel groups to overcome such things as capital risk (leaving investments in the valley of death) or adverse selection, they are more often taking not only a long view but also working with other Angel groups to co-invest so that they are, together, able to fund many more companies to conclusion.

In my case, I can definitely say Yellow Pages Group! There are many people also from Public Technologies Multimedia (PTM) and Ubisoft that have launched their own start-ups.
